I’m Ebony. I grow flowers, food and preserve what we harvest, and live most of my life at home. Along the way, I’ve made a few changes that have helped our family feel better and have more breathing room. I share what we use and how we live, for anyone who’s curious.
A few years ago, I realised the way we were living wasn’t sustainable for our family. I didn’t overhaul everything. I just started making small changes. At home. In the garden. In how I worked. Over time, those choices widened our life. This space exists to share what I’ve learned along the way, and to offer calmer pathways for women who want to live and work differently in this season.

When I started making small changes at home, I wasn’t trying to reinvent my life. I just wanted things to feel a little easier. Over time, those choices created more space in my days, more connection with people I care about, and a way of living that actually fits.

I never planned for the garden to become such a big part of my life. It started small, a few seedlings and a quiet moment outside. Over time, it became something grounding I return to most days.

Slowing down changed how I show up with people. I’m more present, more selective, and more at ease with who I spend time with. The relationships that matter now feel simpler and more mutual.

Along the way, I found people who value the same things I do. Not loud or performative. Just supportive, practical, and willing to grow at their own pace.
Over time, people have shared how small changes at home have supported them in different ways. Everyone’s experience is their own. These are a few of the messages I’ve been sent.

“After making a few changes at home, including the water we drink, I noticed a real difference in how I felt day to day. I appreciated being able to take things at my own pace without pressure.”
- Jasmine S. Hagerty

“Finding this space helped me rethink how I work and live as a solo mum. It wasn’t about doing more, just choosing what mattered and having support while I figured it out.”

“I came across this during a really uncertain time and appreciated the practical, steady approach. It gave me options without asking me to overhaul my life.”

“What stood out to me was the community. It felt supportive without being overwhelming, and I never felt pushed to do anything before I was ready.”
- Megan Sheedy

What started as a few pots in the backyard became something I genuinely enjoy tending to each week. The stand is filled with home-grown seedlings, herbs, and flowers, restocked regularly for anyone local who wants to stop by.
It’s a simple thing, but it keeps me connected to the garden, the seasons, and the people who come past.
Over time, I noticed that a few simple areas made the biggest difference in how our home felt. I don’t try to do everything. I just come back to these basics and let them support the way we live.

We’re mindful about the water in our home and how it supports everyday routines. It’s one of those background choices that quietly makes a difference over time.

I’ve made a few swaps at home where it felt practical to do so. Nothing extreme. Just changes that help our space feel calmer and easier to maintain.

Gardening isn’t about self-sufficiency for me. It’s about staying connected to what we eat and spending time outside, even in small ways.

Over time, a couple of questions come up again and again.
One is about the water we use at home.
The other is about how I’ve structured my work so I can be home more.
I don’t talk about either publicly very often.
But I’ve put them here for anyone who wants to understand them better.
I’m not a polished influencer or a high-pressure coach. I show up as I am, often in the garden, sometimes in fluffy slippers, speaking plainly and honestly.
I’ve built my life gradually, making practical choices that support how I want to live now. When people choose to work with me, it’s usually because they want clarity without pressure, and support that feels human, grounded, and real.

More from the garden, home, and day-to-day.
